One of the great things about the Southwest is its Native American heritage. Avalon has talented Native American performers that blend Native traditions with contemporary New Age and Jazz. The trio in this clip features one of those artists providing perfect, conversational level background music for a cocktail / networking reception. As well as being a great entertainment piece for any event, artists are happy to pose with guests for photo ops. If you want to have a full blown Native American theme, Avalon can arrange dancers, artisans, and decor to complement the music.

One of the advantages of contracting with a DMC is their expert knowledge of a destination. That includes unique and amazing venues such as the one pictured here. Located in Phoenix, this venue has an amazing capacity of up to 1500 guests and includes state of the art A/V along with flexible menus, décor, and entertainment choices, Avalon provides a turnkey package which includes round trip transportation and full coordination by our staff. You and your guests need only enjoy the evening. Below is a very short video clip of a “Fire and Ice” theme event with special effect lighting on the ballroom walls for additional ambiance. Avalon was asked to create a Soccer stadium atmosphere in a small space. The right decor magically transforms any space into a theme experience. Using artificial “turf”, soccer ball balloon columns, soccer goals, pennants and life size soccer player figure decals for the walls, the guests were able to enjoy this soccer field atmosphere. Karaoke was the highlight of the evening as the guests were both soccer stars and American Idols.

Avalon just had its first program at the new Mountain Shadows Resort in Paradise Valley. It is a new incarnation of Marriott’s Mountain Shadows. The original opened in 1959, was sold to Marriott in 1981, and closed in 2004. Avalon had many friends at the old hotel and enjoyed working with many clients there. It was gratifying to arrange transportation for a client a few weeks ago. The new Mountain Shadows maximizes the stunning surroundings, incredible views and breathtaking vistas. You can see a view from the lobby where Avalon’s Alysia Baron is ready to assist guests with boarding. The Conference Service Manager, Deirdre James happens to be an old friend and, as always, was great to work with.

As a Destination Management Company, Avalon has many components in its portfolio. One of our favorites is Teambuilding.

We recently provided a custom scavenger hunt on May 4 and themed it around Cinco De Mayo. Incorporating Arizona’s western heritage with the popular Mexican holiday, costumed staff in cowboy and Dia de los Muertos attire delighted the guests and helped with many memorable photos.

Our fun loving “Sheriff” explained all the rules and criteria for the hunt, and they really had to work together to accomplish their mission. While some of the hunt items may sound impossible (get your picture taken with a bull), they are not. Teams had to use their imagination, their maps, and a lot of ingenuity to get the task done. If you want to know how they accomplished the “picture with the bull” task, send us an email. 🙂

The first team to meet the “Sheriff” back at the meeting point with the most “missions accomplished” were the winners, and they got to take home a themed prize. As well as a great time, everyone had unforgettable photos and fond memories of their day during this fun event. Watch our one minute video and enjoy some highlights!

Avalon’s Alysia Baron provided a sensational Arizona experience for a thousand guests. The formula for success was premium transportation to and from the site, great barbecue, host bar, games, activities, and an after dinner show featuring a celebrity C & W act, (sorry, can’t share that part). Guests had an amazing time and our client was ecstatic. The video features highlights of the evening. Enjoy!

the DUCE

Avalon recently produced a program at “The Duce”, a unique venue in Phoenix, AZ.  We were privileged to orchestrate the entire event including:  Site Selection, Logistics, Transportation, Food, Beverage and Entertainment. As a DMC, Avalon makes it so easy by serving as one point of contact for creative ideas, making all arrangements, paperwork, and billing.

We are proud to say that, with Avalon’s Alysia Baron in charge, the event greatly exceeded expectations.  In fact, when we asked our client if we could use them as a reference, the answer was, “I insist that you do!”   That type of feedback is so gratifying and why we love doing what we do. The video shows pix and clips of the layout, activities, and guests having an amazing time!

The James Bond franchise has been wildly popular since its movie debut with Sean Connery. Avalon’s “Casino Royale” features illuminated gaming tables, sports bar games, DJ/Karaoke, decor, strolling entertainers, and caricaturists.

For this program, the event was staged in four different locations on-site. Guests had an amazing evening and Avalon’s client was delighted to have achieved their objectives: networking, camaraderie, great fun, and a super successful event!

While Avalon is corporate based in Arizona, we have assisted clients with Destination Management in many different markets, both national and global. Consequently, we are always connecting with new resources and talent to serve these varied locations. We recently agreed to represent a remarkable band in the San Diego area. Of course, they are available to all of our clients regardless of geography. All that’s required is transportation, room and board when outside of the San Diego area. Select the video below to enjoy a demo of one of the finest party bands you can hire: the San Diego Dance Band.

What do you do with more than a thousand guests downtown, looking for something unique, casual, and conducive to networking? Why, you throw a block party of course! Through a collaborative effort, Avalon produced a street party in downtown Phoenix.  The detail work and logistics were huge:  permits, security, catering, décor, entertainment and A/V about sums it up.  But the reward is a fabulously successful event that was both fun and awesome for the guests.   Check out the video!
